The Real Scoop

Bism Illah wa as salaamu alaykum wa RahmatUllahi wa Barakatuh.

So many things about Saudi Arabia in general and the real issues and opinions held here can be found in the online newspapers. It is not always pleasant or encouraging reading, but it is very real and will put things in a better perspective for those who are seriously seeking to come here. The more you know about the reality of a place, the better prepared you are for living in it.

I am a dentist by profession and my husband is a phd has an offer for assistant professor at taibeh university in madina.
It looks as a good offer but can you please elaborate how is living in madinah.
Can women move freely there without mehram?
Are there good international schools for children.
My husband also has an offer for post doc in USA for 3 yrs but we want to live in Saudia after that. So do u think would the post doc fellowship make any difference in the salary in Saudia or should we just accept the offer now with just a phd. We r Pakistani by origin.
    Would appreciate your reply.

    JazakAllah

I hope I am not being rude but when someone has spent so much time answering so many of the questions you are asking it is best to read them first.
Careers advice is highly specialised according to profession. This forum is not really a place to ask such questions. It is about life in Madinah and not about salaries.

I really appreciated the blog and the advice.
I would encourage everyone to read the entire blog before asking any questions.
For immigration related questions please seek advice from your local Saudi embassy.

I think the sister who writes the blog is very patient when replying to questions. May Allah grant her success.
